I've started work on 4.6.13. One thing I've put in is for the client to
send an option 60 (vendor-class-identifier) of "Etherboot" in the
DHCPDISCOVER message. dhcp-3.0 can use this information in conditionals
and presumably can be set to reply with a tag that says, yes I know
Etherboot. Then Etherboot can ignore offers from other DHCP servers on
the same segment (a compile option).
If anybody is happy to install ISC dhcp-3.0 and help test this, let me
know.
