[etch-users] Format for output of 'nodegrouper' script

I am not using nVentory, so I am unable to grok the provided example script for externally based "nodegrouper".  If I am fashioning my own "nodegrouper" script, will the output be XML?  Can you give me an example of what the output would look like?
