    Hi

with this hardware: http://www.linitx.com/viewproduct.php?prodid=11714 I only get the ET131x driver to run with 100 MBit in Half Duplex mode.

81:00.0 Ethernet controller: Agere Systems ET-131x PCI-E Ethernet Controller (rev 01)
82:00.0 Ethernet controller: Agere Systems ET-131x PCI-E Ethernet Controller (rev 01)

If I just "modprobe et131x", the interfaces come up, but I only get 100 Mbit/s.

If I manually do "modprobe et131x et131x_speed_set=5", the interface says "NO CARRIER", although the cable is still plugged in.

I tried this with linux 2.6.18 and 2.6.24. Both give the same result.

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Regards
    Dominik

      Sorry having bothered ...

Turns out it helps *a lot* to connect not only a gigabit switch but also a gigabit machine to test bandwidth.
