I have Ubuntu Natty and got eSpeak from Synaptic. Whenever I run a basic command-line TTS, the audio plays fine, but the terminal returns the following errors:

I'm not sure what the error means, since sound plays out. What's the easiest way to fix and/or suppress this error?

I don't know.  I get a similar result, but with fewer "Unknown PCM cards" lines.
The "bt_audio_service" messages are about Bluetooth, which has nothing to do with eSpeak.
And eSpeak doesn't need the "jack server".

You will need to ask the Ubuntu people.  It's probably due to the way they have set up the audio system in Ubuntu.

Not a fix, but you can eliminate seeing the errors by redirecting stderr to /dev/null.

    espeak "hello" 2>/dev/null
