Eschaton ("FNORD") released

On March 2, 2007 the first alpha version of Eschaton (release name "FNORD") has been released.

Eschaton:FNORD is a complete rewrite of the original lost-source Eschaton client [1] and is able to run on 32-bit Windows machines (64-bit is untested). It expands upon the original's renaming capabilities by allowing archive creation, archive renaming, and archive contents renaming.

Other new features of Eschaton:FNORD include:
- Can rename any filetype if pattern is modified
- Can create .zip and .rar archives (WinRAR only)
- Can rename files before or after archival
- Can rename archives
- Can create an information file (.nfo) within the archive containing archive attributes
- Can read values from the information file and automatically fill in fields (does not read from filename though)

However, a lot of features are still missing and are slated for future beta versions. I no longer program all that much in VB6 so it is unlikely that further development will occur on this program, but you never know.
