Hi there,
It is so impolite to ask for help in this way. I'm sorry but
you are my
last hope. Let me introduce myself: I'm a die-hard
Newtonian since the first
OMP and now the upgraded MP2000 is along with me
everyday. I found nothing
that could replace my Newton.
I bid a ethernet card recently and my MP2k could
connect to the internet thru'
office PC ethernet successfully. However, I met problem
when connect it to my
home Mac when I wished to exchange data by Escale
1.0.1.
Here is my config:
A) MP2000 (upgraded), 3com TP589D ethernet card on
slot B. All related package
were stored in internal memory. Owner info and worksite
were set (using DHCP
and zeroconf, the domain left blank)
B) Apple Mac G4/733 desktop. OS 10.4. Escale 1.0.1
installed. Connect to internet
thru' airport station.
The problem:
A) Newton was unable to resolve the server name when
connect thru' TCP/IP. The Escale
showed Idle all the time.
B) With same setting, Newton could find my desktop
name thru' Appletalk. But Escale
did not response.
The questions that need your help:
A) Any setting in Newton has to be modified in order to
work with Escale?
B) Any preference has to be set in OS X so that TCP/IP
could work in Escale?
Thank you for your time to read this mail and hope for
your kindly help.
I have searched around the net and tried many times but
no result. Frustrated.
Many thanks!
