For anyone interested in following the project as it is developed, you will need to have the MySQL Connector (http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/j/5.0.html) and a MySQL database to work with locally. I recommend XAMPP (http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html).
