I've been having some issues installing the EP Toolkit.
On a PC running Windows 10, I have installed the latest version of Field Trip (20210310), and EEGLAB (version 2020_0) on MATLAB 2018a. I set paths to the relevant folders/subfolders using the tutorial documentation.
When I try loading up the ep.m from the command window I get the following output, could someone please advise:
--
You are running FieldTrip version: 20210301
Checking to see if there is a newer version of the EP Toolkit available.
Done checking.
Matlab Distributed Computing Toolbox not installed. Source analysis function will be slower.
Matlab Deep Learning Toolbox not installed. NIPALS will not be available as a PCA option.
Dot indexing is not supported for variables of this type.
Error in ep (line 1044)
if exist(EPdataset.EPwork filesep 'EPwork' filesep 'EPprefs.mat'],'file')
--
Thanks!

Someone else had the same problem and I just made a fix. I'll send it to you so you can try it out. Let me know if it works. I plan to have another release soon.

The fix worked! It did initially throw this error:
--
Error using save
Cannot create 'EPprefs.mat' because 'C:\Users\Documents\MATLAB\EPwork' does
not exist.
Error in ep (line 1073)
eval(['save ''' EPdataset.EPwork filesep 'EPwork' filesep
'EPprefs'' prefs']);
--
but manually creating this folder solved the problem.
Thanks for responding so quickly, much appreciated.

Good to hear! I'll try putting in a fix for this as well. I should have the new release out soon.
