Hi,

I'd second what Steve said earlier, the book is a bit rough around the edges, but looks very promising.

As for the TOC, it looks something like this:

1 Scalable Systems
2. Data Storage Options
3. Getting Started with Yaws
4. Dynamic content in YAWS
5. Appmods - Dynamic Content in Yaws
6. REST
7. Web Sockets
8. File Upload
9. Streaming Data
10. Notes on Scaling and Resilience

Though I'm sure that could all change by the time it's released.

It'd be interesting if O'Reilly  could be convinced to release the contents of the book like they've done with others.
eg CouchDB - The Definitive Guide

Hi,

I got an email from amazon for this book (some time ago), but no TOC (what's inside??), and also I wish it covered more of yaws than just REST and web services. The title seems to have been changed now.

I think it will cover quite a bit of yaws, not just REST and web services.
That is promising.

I am still new in using yaws but I am interested in websockets and using it as an apache replacement or as a JSON feed server, REST is just one aspect.

It will likely cover websockets, though I can't say for sure.
That is also good if it did.

Only the About the author section makes me feel I might get more, but with no TOC there is no telling.
Do you guys know the author? I have a vague impression most books like that get a preface or some kind of word from the creators/maintainers.

I don't know the author, but I do know some of the folks at O'Reilly working with this book. They've been in the publishing industry for a long time and are generally excellent at what they do. I'm sure the finished book will have everything you've mentioned.
Well most of the books I have are from O'Reilly and they are generally well written with competent technical reviewers etc.. This book maybe a worthy purchase but without at least a table of contents it is kind of hard to make any judgement, but I guess for the price they are asking 13 USD for 70 pages ...  thinking

Thanks for the additional info. I see there is one review already from a Java programmer ... hehe sounds familiar ;)
Cheers,
george

The book is currently in a pretty rough state and needs a fair bit of work. Hopefully the author will finish it into something valuable sometime later this year.

I can't seem to find a TOC. A book like this one was long overdue.
Awesome!
