Background

Eremus beings in the relatively near future, the year 2168. Supply of energy can not keep up with the demand of an advanced civilization. All energy production facilities belong to an organization called the Energy Management Corporation, controlled by the galactic government.

A small time energy management facility breaks off from the Energy Management Corporation to become a private energy provider.
This hasn't been done by any facility for a few decades. The problem that the company faces is how will they produce their energy? They still have all of their equipment, but they want to supply more energy than ever before.

The small time company plans to use the sun as a direct source of energy harvesting.
The facility starts planning and building in secrecy. The plan is estimated to take 10 years. As time goes on, the energy crisis is getting worse.

As society starts to break down, riots begin to break out all over the globe.

In 2171 the small company hires a contract militia to protect themselves from the chaos rising in the outside world.

The contract militia worked with several galaxy renowned researchers. Since the company is an energy supply company they have all the resources they need to continue their development until the project is finished.

They use their product income and extra energy output for their own use (which costs them almost nothing).

The researchers develop weaponry for the militia as well as the designs for the Petawatt Multi-chamber Output Capacitor (PMOC). Looking for all resources as possible, the researchers outsource the weapons without permission from the militia leaders or the company.

The leading edge energy weapons they develop become available to other militias and the public.

The galactic government investigates energy supplying corporations in the year 2073, to check up on efficiency and production levels.

The small company refuses the investigation since they are a private corporation not listed with the EMC.

A year later, in 2174, a document for the predicted output of the machine is leaked. This makes the government suspicious and they order an investigation of the company because the document mentions "harnessing 500 Petawatts of energy".

There was no research indicating any current technology could even reach 1 Petawatt of energy.

In November of 2175, the design document containing the energy farms for the PMOC are leaked. The government orders another, more thorough investigation of the company.

In September of 2176, the investigation closes with a public report stating that "nothing of interest was found".
But in November of 2176, an ex-employee of the company goes public with the information of the PMOC. The PMOC is considered a threat to the planet by the general public.

A galactic committee of scientists claim to "debunk" the PMOC, stating that, "There is no technology that can contain 500 petawatts" and that, "the only reason this would ever be "invented" would be to calm the rioters.

Which it has failed to do."
Riots increase as committee comes to a close.

The company has become a public disgrace and moves underground. Entrances are built within the 25 mile radius of the complex.

A conclusion was formed during May of 2178. The project was estimated to be completed at the end of October, and was to be activated by the end of November.
