Hi Tobias, erc is also an XEmacs package.

XEmacs has a gnus package as well, of course.

Making erc depend on gnus would be a pretty bad idea, IMO.

Not that XEmacs packages don't have interdependencies, but this one
seems like a bit of a strech.
