Activity for EqualX

I have been using EqualX for some time but in recent Linux installations/upgrades I got a dark theme in EqualX regardless the theme I am using on the system. The interface is too dark and some items are hard to read specially at night. How can I change this to a light theme always? I have this issue in Manjaro+Gnome 40, ArcoLinux + i3 and EndeavourOS + XFCE. Thanks.

Thank you for EqualX, which provided great service running without problems under Windows 8.1 on a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 for quite a while. However, all subsequent attempts to install EqualX on newer windows computers and operating systems (both Windows 8.1 and 10) have failed. Most recently, attempted to install EqualX on a Surface Pro 4 running Windows 10 by installing MikeTex 64 bit and Equalx by following links at https://equalx.sourceforge.io/downloads.html Unfortunately, received the following...

unfortunately, at the moment I can not know exactly whats the exact problem or to give you a good working solution. but I give you a tip: * make sure the paths are correct and located at the 64bits version of Program files (Program Files (64bit) I'm working to release the next version and I hope these issues will not appear in the next version. best regards, Mihai

I installed EqualX 0.7.0 and MiKTeX 4.1. It applears like EqualX has configured the right programs (image attached). When I type a equation and click Refresh, the program closes without giving any output. What should I do?

  • Anonymous posted a comment on discussion Help

lol, look for something else (another soft). No one cares.

I have MikTex installed through chocolatey. It seems to run OK otherwise. When I run EqualX, the program starts correctly, but after entering a formula it crashes. I tried to change the paths through the prefernces dialog, but the changes don't seem to stick across restart. The paths do look correct, though. Maybe that is not the problem. Can I debug what's wrong?

I've edited template-preamble.tex adding \usepackage{mathrsfs}, but it doesn'st show in the preamble. If I manually enter this line each time I start EqualX ist will work fine, but why EqualX doesn't read the file? The content of the old file ist showm not the new (edited) version! I've found that all the lines are hardcoded within equalx.exe. I assume Equalx only uses this builtin-lines and not rerading template-preamble.tex. I'm using Windows not Linux!

Hi, I am a new user of EqualX and I would like to export equations to .eps. Now, I have EqualX 0.7 and basic-miktex-2.9.5105, but the image I get when I export to clipboard or file is smaller than original equation. When exporting to any other format, the image is very good. I think it is very interesting when working with WinWord in Windows. Thank you, Unai.

Is there a way to create multiline equations with equation numbers using the program? If yes, will it be possible to use [leqno]? Thanks!

    An old topic, and the answer is good, but I'll add one more to this just in case someone might find it useful as well. \begin{aligned} \end{aligned} Example: \begin{aligned} \span{\text{Commutativity}} \ A &= B &\Rightarrow \ B &= A \end{aligned}

Hello. Does anyone know if it is possible to backup the bookmarked equations?

  • Anonymous posted a comment on discussion Help

Hi, you may use it as you wish as long you comply with the GPLv3 license, but you can not use it a web environment because equalx is a desktop app.

  • Mihai Niculescu Mihai Niculescu posted a comment on discussion Help

equation.tex is a temporary file generated by EqualX and so it can not be located in Lyx directory or other places like settings file. Your real problem might be other.

  • Anonymous posted a comment on discussion Help

All seems to be correct, but when writting an equation, this error comes up Line 0 --> i can't find file 'equation.tex' This file is located in my computer (Lyx install) in /usr/share/doc/texlive-doc/latex/tkz-linknodes/examples/latex/equation.tex But i don't figure out how to point to this file from equalx. I had a look to settings.conf and nothing seems to point that file. Thanks in advance. Settings.conf [CONVERTERS] gs=/usr/bin/gs pdfcairo=/usr/bin/pdftocairo pdflatex=/usr/bin/pdflatex [EDITOR]...

You can set the Editor's font from preferences: Edit->Preferences->Editor. The size of the Symbols from the toolbars can not be currently modified.

  • Anonymous posted a comment on discussion Help

On the toolbars are a bunch of useful buttons for inserting typical symbols into your latex code, but the font is all too small for me to read on my screen. Is there a way to make that font larger? Or to zoom into the whole program?

  • Mihai Niculescu Mihai Niculescu posted a comment on discussion Help

Close EqualX and try removing the configuration file equalx.conf. It might be in: rm ~/.config/QiukahnSoft/equalx.conf or in ~/.equalx/

Here is my problem. Several months ago, I installed it on Debian 8.1 and it worked well. Then I updated my system to Debian 9(complete new installation), now the Equalx can not work. There is no equation showed in the midle frame, and there is a message in the term read " libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile". I knew it is not the reason that equalx doesnot work, because I have encountered this message before but it worked fine in that case. I checked the preferences, and the paths...

  • Mihai Niculescu Mihai Niculescu posted a comment on discussion Help

I knew this was a problem only in development mode but this is strange to appear in the production . In case you didn't use the provided package from the website, it might be the problem with your distributor's package. I'm currently working on the next version and I will look into this.

  • Anonymous posted a comment on discussion Help

I also have this problem of the program crashing, and for the exact same missing .dll. Where would it be available ? Never installed EqualX before, and Miktex runs without any problems on my computer
