#26 Equalizing some mp3s sampled at 48KHz introduces extra noise

Recently I updated to version 0.7 of EQU and overall I am very satisfied with it.

However, I seem to be having problems getting EQU to equalize mp3s with various bit rates sampled at 48KHz. Whenever try to play 48KHz sampled mp3's, EQU generates a lot of extra noise. To me, the noise resembles the effects of over amplification.

When I disable EQU, all mp3's play fine. The eralier version of EQU I had also worked fine so I believe there could be a problem with EQU 0.7. In case you are interested, I am using EQU 7.0 with xmms 1.2.10. MPG decoding is via libmpg123 version 0.59q. OS sound services are provided by alsa v1.0.9a using the linux 2.6.18.8 SiS SI7012 (SigmaTel STAC9750,51 chipset) drivers.
