No

Recently bought a Logitech F310 wired gamepad to use with EQMOD. The defaults settings seem to work Ok but after having set one of the F310 buttons to the SYNC command in EQMOD it does not work without having to hit the programmed button 2x very rapidly. Nor is there a way to set CNTL1 to a gamepad button??

Yes, that is eactly how its supposed to work. The sync function needs a double tap beacuse accidental syncs will totaly mess up your gotos.

Thanks for confirming that is correct operation – I suspected that might be the case. Is that in any documentation? I likely missed it looking thru the help files… So why no CNTL1 button assignment? If we have a CNTL3/SYNC seems CNTL1/Slew would be a good idea and even CNTL5 not that I use 5… Any chance for adding those to the button settings?

    Thanks
    Robert

Yes it is in the documentation - Pg 35 of the manual (EQMOD_DOC.pdf - should have installed with EQMOD).

Don't understand what you mean about CTRL1 with repect to gamepads.

Ok, I use EQMOD with StellariumScope and Stellarium. StellariumScope uses the keyboard commands. CNTL1 to drive mount to selected target in Stellarium. CNTL3 to SYNC to the selected target in Stellarium and CNTL5 to cancel the SYNC. The EQMOD gamepad button assignment window will accomodate the CNTL3/SYNC but as far as I can see there is no way to asign CNTL1 or CNTL5 to a gamepad button in the EQMOD window. It would be a nice future update to include those two commands although I have never found a need to use CNTL5 yet..

    OK I understand.

EQMOD has nothing to do with the way stellariumscope interacts with stellarium or the assignment of the ctrl keys. Stellarium doesn't support ascom at all so the way stellearium scope works is define three stellarium "telescopes" - each assigned to a ctrl key. When you hit the ctrl key stellarium initiaites a goto on the associated telescope. Stellariumscope is then able to intercept these goto commands coming out of stellariums tcp port and map them on to a few selected ASCOM commands that are sent to EQMOD (or any other ascom telescope driver). In this way a very basic amount of control can be provided (goto, sync and emergence stop) of ASCOM mounts.

When it comes to the EQMOD gamepad handling you can map sync to a button, and also emergency stop. Goto just isn't possible because to perform a goto you need to supply a target coordinates.
