From @croueche via email:

Something which struck me is that there are more and more requests for information about EpiDoc, but people are not aware of the parallel projects, even if they are not far away.... It’s quite easy to find a list of training opportunities (although the information on the Sourceforge site is behind that on the Digital Classicist site).

But it’s less easy to find a list of projects: I think that the collection at https://wiki.digitalclassicist.org/Category:EpiDoc is a bit too general, and also hard work (like the TEI projects list). People often want to find the nearest person to talk to, before they take the plunge! So – could the list of projects be

  • Reachable/pointed at from the Sourceforge site
  • With some geographic indication

Should this be a small GIS, if geography is the main important category? I suppose we might also be interested in categorising by genre, language, period, material, subdiscipline… (And [modern] date. Many projects are not by any means current.)

We decided to create a relatively simple page with major projects that have documentation and open examples, on the EpiDoc SF site. This will be a starting point for this sort of resource. A more advanced database or GIS belongs neither to the DC Wiki nor EpiDoc group as far as we can see, but we would welcome an independent project to build something like this.

Elli will add a description of USEP+IIP to Example Projects and then invite others to follow her template. We can then share with Markup and ask for more examples.

I've added two projects, with very simple accompanying links to source files and documentation. Please look over and add your own projects (and/or add lables for useful infomraiton that could accompany this. @paregorios I think you'd like us to include something lke "Providence, RI, USA" or is "Brown. University" sufficient. I thought about a contact email, but those are usually on the website. The projects can also be linked to their page on the DC wiki if they have one.

I’d have thought that the institutional affiliation (e.g., Brown
University) would be the most useful contextual indicator.

Note sent out to Markup, we got a few additions. We've all been adding or plan to add projects. This can probably be closed unless we want to make the request for projects a more regular appeal.

Closing. There is a mechanism for adding projects wtih documentation, and a respectable selection of projects to explore. Where ever we add tasks that we have to do on a regular basis, we should check the wiki for anything that needs to be updated, including this section. Also request contributions.
