The "See also" division on most pages of the EpiDoc Guidelines is automatically generated to show a list of pages that discuss the main elements treated by the current page. (See e.g. at the bottom of Ligature.) Since the Brazilian Portuguese port of the guidelines was added last year (the first of what we hope will be several internationalized versions of the GLs) the See also box now contains all the Portuguese pages as well as the English pages for each element.

A simple fix to this might be to write some exceptions in the XSLT generating this div, so that it only shows English links on English pages (and ditto Portuguese). But I think a more robust solution might be to rethink they way we encode and organize localized versions of the Guidelines, which would make finding the right version for the See also box easier, and also enable adding "this page in other languages" links (or flags, vel sim.) to each page.

I have now edited the GL process so that on any non-Portuguese (i.e. English) page, only non-Portuguese pages are indexed, and vice versa. This is not a multi-language robust solution, but if we ever need to implement a third language translation of the whole guidelines, then we will revisit this topic without needing this ticket to remind us.

    Closing ticket.
