Hi, I take it pvDatabase will not be bundled into the 4.3 beta. So, I'm assuming 4.3 beta will consist of: C++ ---- pvAccessCPP pvDataCPP pvIOCCPP pvCommonCPP pvaSrv Java ---- pvAccessJava pvDataJava Questions. 1. What about inclusion of alphaCPP? It contains easyPVA. My recollection from the Diamond meeting is that Matej is going to complete EasyPVA java and C++ implementations, and he estimated 4-5 weeks, but I can't remember whether we had the specific intention to complete this work in time for 4.3 Beta. The minutes don't seem to mention easyPVA at all unfortunately [1]. I guess alphaJava would be included in the Java iff alphaCPP is included in the CPP. 2. About pvIOCCPP. We're including this for support of pvaSrv only I take it. This has implications for the accompanying documentation. Has the overview doc for pvIOCCPP been updated to track changes and intended functionality of pvIOCCPP? I'm worried users will see the name "pvIOC" and think it would contain an IOC implementation, and that will be in conflict with the new positioning of EPICS V4 w.r.t. IOC work. Lots of potential for confusion. 3. Examples and extensions would not be bundled: pvAccess testServer would be bundled, but the following not: directoryService exampleCPP exampleJava masarService portDriver pvDataPy (what's the status of that?) pvAccessPy (ditto) pvServiceCPP - dead? pvServiceJava - dead? common - Pretty sure this is dead dbCPP - what is this? normativeTypesCPP - is this present working draft compliant? pvIntegrationTestJava - ? swtshellJava unicornService ? 4. IOC prototyping will not be bundled pvDatabaseCPP [1] https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zd5cyeLAy3Ud0wlFQsKZAvGzqCBNPB901nMmH66P_Dc/pub |
