We need a real named person to be responsible for testing future releases against Windows. PSI intends to use V4 for windows services.

[Timo will find and get agreement from a person at PSI who can take release candidates (at least), test them, and report to the WG on any discovered issues].

Due 29/Oct/13.

We have a user at PSI who needs the Windows version. However, he said that he cannot do real testing, the best he can promise is to report any issues that come up in installation or working with the software. PSI may be able to allocate some funding for this if that helps.

Hi Timo, how heavily will the user use the Windows version. Is it fair to say it will be tested by being used, as opposed to be being formally envelop tested. Tested by being used is fine.

Difficult to say how heavy is heavy but anyway the intention is to use this in applications where one packs metadata together with images, and the target is high volume data from detectors. Not testing all possible aspects but a good portion of the functionality in any case, I would say.

This is an old ticket and I have changed employer after this was opened. In the last meeting there was discussion about getting support for Windows from people in STFC.

I close this issue. This may have to be brought up again but it is better to create a new ticket.
