Hi Brent,
Thanks for making such a promising application so far. There are
several features I'd like to see in future releases. I've been thinking of
designing software similar to EOSIM, but with EOS IM I won't have to.
:-) You can find the interface that I've made so far with Interface
Builder on http://lars.boelman.nl/photomanager
I'm really looking forward to the addition of the thumbnail/preview
feature you'll add.
Standard keycommands:
-using the commands as used in the Finder, iPhoto and
QuicktimePlayer for common operations
-on my site I've made a suggestion for all the commands
-I know it's a huge change in the application, but I think it's a useful
one
Behaviour:
-behaviour as the Finder:
*CMD+up arrow and CMD+down arrow = one level up and one level
deeper in the browser
*CMD+backspace = move item (file/folder) to trash
-behaviour as standard OS X apps:
*TAB switches between active windows/screens (source and target
views in EOSIM)
*CMD+` switches between different 'modes', between the Image
viewer / File manager / Thumbnail viewer tabs in EOSIM (the same
command used in all OS X apps to switch between active windows)
*CMD+SHIFT+h = back to home folder (as in Finder and browsers)
-both the source and target pane should have a preview/image viewer
option
Slideshow:
-keyboard control
*space = pause
*(CMD+)right and (CMD+)down arrow = next image
*(CMD+)left and (CMD+)up arrow = previous image
*CMD+backspace = move current image to trash
*ESC = stop = same as cmd+.
I hope some of my suggestions seem useful to you, so you'll apply
them. Thanks already.

Hi Lars,
Thanks for all of your suggestions.
Every release so far has brought with it better keyboard commands and menu
structure (i hope). The next one is no exception.
Some of the keyboard commands you suggested are already present in the
forthcoming release, 0.9. For example, [cmd]+[backspace] for delete, and
[cmd]+[shift]+[H] for home are already in the menus as of the current build. In
addition, i've incorporated other well-adopted styles into the menu
shortcuts, such as [cmd]+[,] for Preferences.
Rest assured that creating an intutive and familiar interface is one my primary
design goals, and i will continue to improve the menus and keyboard shortcuts
as much as i can for each release. As new features are added - Slide Show
controls being one example - i will consider your suggestions for those
interface controls as they are being created.
I appreciate your feedback, and i hope you continue to enjoy the application.
..Brent

I would especially like to see the additional keys in the slideshow.
