At least as an option (though I think always), if you start a
slideshow you should block the screensaver from starting.

    Hi Kurt,

    Thanks for submitting your request.

    I'll have to do some research on this and see if it possible and/or
    how to do it. With the big screensaver exploit fix of late, i'm
    thinking Apple may have cut me off from fiddling with the
    screensaver...

    Is the Apple "DVD Player" app susceptible to this same issue? It's
    been awhile since i've used it.

    No, there are various apps that keep other events from
    happening. The dvd player keeps the screensaver from coming
    on; some apps block power saving. I can find out how it's done,
    though I expect that digging through docs may do...
