I don't see a real need for those fields either.  I would like to see the
default fields reduced and folks that want to use them could add them via
the dynamic data fields.  This would probably generate a requirement to make
changes to some of the modules that utilize those fields or at least an
addition to the code that ignored those functions if the data field wasn't
defined.
