MappyX has provided a beautiful patch to ITv4 for LDAP
authentication
(http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=996000&group_id=72973&atid=536303).
I want to get a generic authentication API (as a
subsystem) set up first, then I will work to
incorporate this mechanism.
