On my home screen I have something that says "There are required cycle counts". When I select it a window comes up entitled "SKU Onhand Adjustments". There are 10 items that it seems to want a new count. Why is this happening? (did EM place cameras in my shop and determine that the counts are a little off?)

Not a problem. I actually think this will be a very important improvement, and I recommend you use the system.
You can also check the "include skus from sub category" box where it makes sense- for example, if it calls for you to count a drawer guide sku, it probably makes more sense to just count the entire sub-category (all the different sizes).

There is a section in the announcement email about this:
The purpose is to ensure inventory accuracy by counting each stock SKU on a cyclical basis.
You could disable this by setting sku count after days to a very large number (it would need to be > 999 due to some internal stuff).
I missed that when I skimmed over it, sorry.
