I've built E many times from source, as a matter of fact I build nearly every program I run on my machines. This is the first time I've seen anything like this, and I'm really stumped. I have two machines at my house. One desktop and one laptop. The desktop one is functioning correctly. I just installed E on the laptop yesterday. The first odd thing that I noticed is when I started it up, I got a warning that I imlib wasn't using the MIT-SHM interface and that the pager would be slow if I didn't disable snapshots. I found that really strange and looked all over to see why SHM wasn't working, but found nothing. I normally don't use the pager so I just disabled it and moved on. Well I started doing some work and found that the Alt-Tab focus switching wasn't working the way I liked, so I went to modify the Focus Settings, but found the ones relating to the Tast List missing. I found in the enlightenment man page that those options are disabled if E doesn't have access to the Xkb extension. Now I figured it was really screwy if I didn't have that working. I queried xdpyinfo it lists both MIT-SHM and XKEYBOARD along with 27 other extensions. So it should be working. I'm running XFree86 4.1.0 and Enlightenment 0.16.5, both built by me, same as my other machine that does work. Does anyone have any ideas, perhaps info on how E queries for supported extensions? I'm totally stumped. Thanks, Chris |
