I've been using e17 under Xubuntu for several years, currently at 15.10, installed from the Xubuntu repos. I've got used to its quirks and the workarounds needed to overcome them. I'm starting to move my machines to 16.04 and I notice from enlightenment.org that "[t]he available packages in the official Ubuntu repositories are outdated" and recommending E20. I added the repos as described: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:niko2040/e19 but when I ran sudo apt-get update it ended with: > W: The repository 'http://ppa.launchpad.net/niko2040/e19/ubuntu xenial Release' does not have a Release file. > N: Data from such a repository can't be authenticated and is therefore potentially dangerous to use. > N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details. > E: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/niko2040/e19/ubuntu/dists/xenial/main/binary-i386/Packages 404 Not Found > E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead. Is there a workaround for this or should I just install e17? ///Peter |
