The thing is, for that to work, we have to do some breakage now, otherwise we'll be stuck maintaining a bad API for sometime. I don't think there is a need right now to change the commit hooks to warn about this since, as I said above, the problem will disappear in a bit. If people just warn here on the mailing list about breakages that happened or are going to should be quite helpful already. But I do agree in having a post-commit hook to add "[BREAKAGE IMPENDING]" to discomfitor's commits :P Or if we could have an interactive pre-commit hook, we could have him answer a series of questions prior to accepting his commits to check if he is drunk (and only accepting in that case :P). --lf > > > brian > >> >>> least trim the email so it's not got 64KB of code patch if all they >>> need is to be informed. >> >> OK, I'll do it next time. >> >>> >>> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ >>> Nokia and AT&T present the 2010 Calling All Innovators-North America contest >>> Create new apps & games for the Nokia N8 for consumers in U.S. and Canada >>> $10 million total in prizes - $4M cash, 500 devices, nearly $6M in marketing >>> Develop with Nokia Qt SDK, Web Runtime, or Java and Publish to Ovi Store >>> http://p.sf.net/sfu/nokia-dev2dev >>> _______________________________________________ >>> enlightenment-devel mailing list >>> enl...@li... >>> https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/enlightenment-devel >>> >>> >> >> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ >> Nokia and AT&T present the 2010 Calling All Innovators-North America contest >> Create new apps & games for the Nokia N8 for consumers in U.S. and Canada >> $10 million total in prizes - $4M cash, 500 devices, nearly $6M in marketing >> Develop with Nokia Qt SDK, Web Runtime, or Java and Publish to Ovi Store >> http://p.sf.net/sfu/nokia-dev2dev >> _______________________________________________ >> enlightenment-devel mailing list >> enl...@li... >> https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/enlightenment-devel >> > > > > -- > brian > ------------------ > > Cool-Karaoke - The smallest recording studio, in your palm, open-sourced > http://cool-idea.com.tw/ > > iMaGiNaTiOn iS mOrE iMpOrTaNt tHaN kNoWlEdGe > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Nokia and AT&T present the 2010 Calling All Innovators-North America contest > Create new apps & games for the Nokia N8 for consumers in U.S. and Canada > $10 million total in prizes - $4M cash, 500 devices, nearly $6M in marketing > Develop with Nokia Qt SDK, Web Runtime, or Java and Publish to Ovi Store > http://p.sf.net/sfu/nokia-dev2dev > _______________________________________________ > enlightenment-devel mailing list > enl...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/enlightenment-devel > -- "I believe in looking reality straight in the eye and denying it." -- Garrison Keillor |
