I am going to start working on the revamp of the view layout for scrollbars / iconbars / etc. The way I'm considering doing it: In any given dir, there will be a .e_layout directory, with a layout.bits.db file. This file will be loaded, and displayed at a level just above the background of the view. Included in this file will be graphics for the iconbar, scrollbars, and named/classed bits for various things like epplets, app regions, the icon area, etc. So, almost all graphics for a view will be included in one file. The only other files needed will be the iconbar.db (with the icon images) and the scrollbar bar db's (since these will need to be separate bits). Only desktops will even pay attention to App_Areas and Epplets. Or, should the layout.bits.db only contain location information, without any graphics, and have the graphics in separate db files? This would work better with the current code base, and allow scrollbars to hide when not needed. Let me know what you think. (i wanted to clear this stuff up before i started coding) -- brian |
