Apologies if this post turns up twice, I'ts just that the first post was
before I was subscribed to the list, and I wasn't sure if it got here. I've
made some progress in solving my problem, but still can't get FNLIB to
build, and still can't get XFree86 to start, even though the library it
can't find ( libXmuu.so.1 ) is in the /usr/X11R6/lib dir with all the other
libs, and all libs are in both my .bash_profile PATH entry, and in
ld.so.conf file. I could start X before, but not since I've loaded the libs.
Was there supposed to be a link somewhere that wasn't done? Or have I not
configured a lib correctly? Other than specifying --prefix=/usr on the
./configure line, I've done nothing strange, and just done make && make
install. It strikes me as strange that I'm having the same problem with
trying to build FNLIB in that it can't find IMLIB (which seemed to build
ok), and after looking at the configure.log for IMLIB, I find that it
couldn't find libX11.so.6, but it can find libXext.so which is also in the
/usr/X11R6/lib dir. I've just hit a wall in trying to get any programs to
find the libs (besides 'Find'), I know that it's most likely something realy
silly, something I haven't done (or done correctly) that's holding me back.
I've tryed running ldconfig but it doesn't seem to help. Below are my file
and system specs.
imlib-1.8.2 & -1.9.10 & -1.9.13 (all have been tryed, one at a time)
fnlib-0.5 (won't pass configure stage)
enlightenment-0.16.5 (won't pass configure stage)
(not a complete list)
Now I am installing onto a bare bones system, it was built using
Linuxfromscratch 3.2-rc2 as a template, so I may need other libraries as
well, but I have no idea what they are, or where to get them, if that's my
problem. If it is I would LOVE some assistance in finding them.
If someone could PLEASE help me, I would be very very very thankfull.
Any other info can be sent apon request regarding my system.
