In my case, most of my desktops have a single fullscreen application in them, and I rely on being able to switch desktops easily. -- Stuff I have no control over could be added after this line. Hi all: I want to make change on my e17 favorite dir (~/.e/e/applications/favorite) and create dir named kde with others subdir ... I make .orders files and ...voilà...I see on my menu, different kde apps with icons. But when I click again the menu... Oh!!! all icons disappear. Ok,I delete all cache files on dirs and ...again the icons. But when I click again the menu... Oh!!! all icons disappear. (I'm sorry this phrase sound me... ;-)) What can I do? A wild guess - Something, maybe related to "/usr/share/aclocal/path_dps.m4:172: file `path_dps.m4' does not exist" aborts aclocal, messing up the rest of the configuration process. /Kim |

Hi, From the e17/apps/e/TODO file: "* BUG: in general fullscreen needs work, cleaning and testing. dont allow desktop switches for the desk a fullscreened window is on, nor allow [...= ]" Well, actually I didn't considered that as a bug but mostly as a feature. I found nice to switch desktops easily even during a fullscreen mode. Why putting this in a bug section ? Is it breaking some WM standards ? Is it a choice ? In my case, if you change this, I would appreciate a way to keep this behaviour, via a config somewhere. Regards, -- Jerome Pinot http://ngc891.blogdns.net/ |

When I run ./autogen.sh in e16/e, i get the attached output. Why does it fail? How may I get it to work? Is something wrong with my autotools? It worked a few weeks before, I don't know what went wrong... Regards, Martin [output] # ./autogen.sh I am going to run ./configure with no arguments - if you wish to pass any to it, please specify them on the ./autogen.sh command line. "usability" experts like to claim they are - invariably they like to dictate how to run your project and if we follow their adivce we will end up being just like windows - maybe osx, and certainly just like gnome. i prefer to get feedback DIRECTLY from you - the users. i would rather the actual people using the software have input and not some detached set of "experts". YOU - the USERS, let us know what you like and don't. what u think could be easier etc. > My idea for registering e17 at openusability was, that I think there are > quite a few (small) simple errors you can commit in usability means. > these are easily pointed out by "experts". but all that's up to you. > (and one thing: getting usability-reports from them doesn't force you to > implement them :-) ) indeed - priority though is just getting the thing DONE - usability can wait until e18 and e19 etc. we dont have time to sit discussing if a button shoudl be on the left or the right of a dialog etc. i can see what they will say already "you need consitency. consider using gnome or gtk or qt libs etc.". :) really - i'd prefer to let our own users give feedback as to what they like and dont. what's hard for them or not. :) > >>This are my ideas for making the greatest windowmanager/desktopshell I know > >>even greater (IMHO :-) ). > > no problems. i hope some of these answers help you too. :) > > Yes, thank you :-) > > Another suggestion: Would be great if the battery module could use hal > to access battery info. to be quicker. why would it be quicker? the battery module reads /proc values right from the kernel - we get it right from the source. not to mention using hal is much more complex than reading /proc! :) for now it works. i dont see any benefits of using hal :) > greetings > fabian > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > SF.Net email is sponsored by: > Tame your development challenges with Apache's Geronimo App Server. hi all. I have installed enlightenment and entrance from rpm on my FC4 machine. I chnaged the line from /etc/inittab as follows to start entrance: # Run xdm in runlevel 5 #x:5:once:/etc/X11/prefdm -nodaemon x:5:once:/usr/sbin/entranced -nodaemon Entrance stats up nicely, but however it won't let me in to an enlightenmen= t session. It seems to log in and out back to entrance. If i use gsm, i can easily log in to enlightenment. Does anyone have any ideas?
