I hope this is not off topic but.... Has anyone tried evas test programs on an AGP G200 video card? If so what frame rate do you get? I get 5 (fps?) Ben Marsh |

My clunky old PPro can do faster than that in software. =) Also, is this under X, Accelerated X or XFree? Which version thereof? XFree86 4.x has the DRI but if you're running XFree 3.3.x with Mesa you'd be better off in software rendering mode as previously suggested. More clueful people are welcome to chip in at this point. ;P Andrew. -- Andrew Shugg <an...@ne...> http://www.neep.com.au/ "Just remember Basil, there's always someone worse off than yourself." I get ~ 70 FPS with my G400 running on DRI from latest X-CVS and DRM from linux-2.4.0-test9 in hardware-mode. But for me evas_test_* stopped working yesterday as it started hanging my X someway after I compiled a new CVS-update from yesterday. two days ago evas from cvs was running fine on my machine. I guess that it's a problem with something changed in evas_test_* as gears runs fine at ~ 1000 FPS. -- ,,(Tuncer M. Damn, and after all that struggles with different Kernels and X-CVS-DRIs I finally had got DRI running fine. I updated my X-CVS all the time so I'll try a new X-build, the used one is two weeks old, we'll see. Damn, I would buy a GeForce2 if they wouldn't be bound to special Kernels and X-releases, damn! Or aren't they bound? -- ,,(Tuncer M. Ayaz................................),, -=(http://tma.n3.net.............................)=- ''(ay...@gm.....................................)'' Be careful: I've got a Geforce2 and I still cannot have 3D acceleration working (well, I've only tested with TuxRacer but...) correctly. Even witn XFree4.0.1 and the drivers from Nvidia. I know that I don't know much in X11 programming, but enough to say that it does not work easily :o) Alex |

Something with nvidia + VIA that clashed. If I remember correctly, fiddling with the driving values of AGP would fix this, but I'm just as happy without x4. //Humming |

Kernel isn't a problem , it usally complains that it isn't supported, but it still compiles without any problems. As for X-releases, as long as you are sticking with a version later than 4.0 you're fine, and yes, that includes cvs-versions. //Humming |
