Setup wizard ignored my request to manually configure plain text messages . . .

. . . and got rid of my HTML preference and configured all mail as plain text. I can't find the way to reverse this opposition of my stated set-up preferences in the wizard. Please tell me how to reverse this. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Goto the Config-editor, search for

mailnews.display.prefer_plaintext

and set this to the default value false

If you want to send HTML mails, please also set

mail.default_html_action

to the default value 2

Thanks for responding. I did what you instructed. It made no change after saving, checking to make sure the changes were saved, closing and re-opening. What else would you suggest?

First of all, do you have this issue with writing messages, or with reading received messages?

• For reading messages, use menu View > Message Body as > Original HTML
• For writing messages, go to the account manager, select "Composition & Addressing" and enable the option "Compose message in HTML formatting"
