The error message below pops up all the time now. I have not change anything regarding GPG, gpg-agent, or Gnome except regular updates.
"GnuPG reported an error in the communication with gpg-agent (a component of GnuPG).
"This is a system setup or configuration error that prevents Enigmail from working properly and cannot be fixed automatically.
"We strongly recommend that you consult our support web site at https://enigmail.net/faq."
Two problems:
1. The URL provided is completely bogus. FF refuses to even allow it.
2. The FAQ does not provide any information about this issue.
Where may I find information that will, once again, allow Engmail and gpg-agent to get along?

None of the suggestions on that FAQ apply to this issue. The keywords "hijack" or "configure" do not appear in the FAQ page.
These are the relevant (I hope) parts from the log:

Hi, the URL should be: https://www.enigmail.net/faq The "www." is missing, so the certificate doesn't match. We will correct this.
https://www.enigmail.net/index.php/en/faq?view=category&id=14 provides all the information you need. Just open the item "Resolving issues with GnuPG 2.x and gpg-agent".

Please follow the the guide Resolving issues with GnuPG 2.x and gpg-agent on the FAQ page. You can directly jump to step 4.
Even if "hijack" or "configure" don't appear on that page, the guide is made exactly for your issue.
