I am running Windows XP

I am getting this error on my Thunderbird 45.x
With enigmail 1.9 and GnuPG 2.3.x

Enigmail initialization failed.

You are using GnuPG version, which is not supported anymore. Enigmail requires GnuPG version 2.0.7 or newer. Please upgrade your GnuPG installation, or Enigmail will not work.

That's probably the version number of gpg4win, 2.3.1 is the most recent, containing GnuPG version 2.0.30. Not to mention that the different numbering scheme is a good idea...

Please make sure that you do not overwrite the GnuPG path in the Enigmail Preferences.
