I'm using Ubuntu 12.04, Thunderbird 17.0.2 and Enigmail 1.4.6. To decrypt attachments, I have to download the encrypted file and decrypt it via the command line. Everything I read says there should be an option in the context menu, which right-clicking on the attachment, to open and decrypt it. I've never seen that option on my computer, but have on other peoples'. I've tried to right-click on the attachment icon, the open link, the save link, and the attachment listing at the top of the email.
I've read through the user manual, FAQ, searched the forum, dug through the config editor, but have had no success. Any ideas?
Thanks!

There could be a problem with your localstore.rdf file that prevents the menu entries from being displayed. Try this: stop Thunderbird, locate your Thunderbird profile folder and delete the localstore.rdf file.
The attachment is not recognized as OpenPGP attachment. I have seen this a few times on Linux systems if some custom mime types are specified (e.g. mapping of .pgp files to application/pgp-signature). Check the /etc/mime.types and ~/.mime.tyes files for entries containing .pgp and .asc entries.

I know of two reasons for this to happen:
