Is there anyway to change the passphrase idle time? … When I send an encrypted email, the saved copy in my “Sent folder” stays decrypted even if I close and restart Thunderbird. In the “OpenPGP” tab, I have tried to “Clear Saved Passphrase” and in “Preferences” I have set the time to 1. ... I get an “OpenPGP alert” that says “You are using gpg-agent for passphrase handling. Clearing the Passphrase is therefore not possible from within Enigmail.” … I am using Enigmail 1.4.6, gpg4win light 2.1.0 and Thunderbird16.0.2.
Thanks...

If you use gpg-agent.exe, as I'm sure you do, the Passphrase setting in Enigmail is ignored.
The setting is in the file gpg-agent.conf, in the line:
default-cache-ttl xxx
where xxx is in seconds. Change this number to suit yourself.
Look in your %AppData%\gnupg folder for that file, and open it with Notepad.
Another setting:
max-cache-ttl xxxx
may be appended to the end of the line, with a line feed character between the 2 settings and another one at the end of the line. You can delete the two solid black line feed characters and use the Enter key to separate the 2 settings, so they appear as 2 separate lines. Then save the file.
