I have a problem with the enigmail add-on and the version of Kaspersky
antivirus and Thunderbird. And exactly from version 19 (that is, from
the version in force in 2019). When creating a new e-mail, they
constantly started popping up windows with the message "cannot guarantee
authenticity of the domain to which encrypted connection is
established". Provided recipient's certificate and in principle the
domain is valid.
If I turn off enigmail in thunderbird, this message is missing when
sending mail, which is good.
Basically, when you send an email every time, this window pops up.
Whatever I do not do in Caspian, the mail is sent to the addressee.
Kasperski's support claims that everything is ok and there is nothing to
improve. In principle, it is very annoying and inconvenient.
Does enigmail in any way check the domain or address of the recipient on
the internet when creating a new email?
I am asking for help in solving the problem.
I have tested it on several computers and it is identical.
Enigmail does a WKD-Lookup for every email address you enter to find out if the message can automatically be encrypted. You can turn off WKD-Lookups by setting the preference "extensions.enigmail.autoWkdLookup" to 0 (in the Thunderbird Config Editor).
