Hi all, I've been using enigmail with my yahoo account for years without any problem. Mostly that was using POP, not IMAP.

Recently, I started using gmail, and set up thunderbird to use IMAP on the Gmail account. Everything seems to work okay, except for one big problem. While I am composing my message in thunderbird, thunderbird is syncing the drafts folder and the message appears in cleartext on gmail.com under the [IMAP]/Drafts folder. When I send the message, gmail moves the cleartext version into trash, and sends the encrypted version. But the cleartext version is on the server, no doubt about it. Obviously, this is a big problem.

Do I have set a local folder for drafts? I'd rather have the drafts sync, except for encrypted messages, but I don't know if there's support for that.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

p.s. My yahoo account does not appear to have this behaviour, so I don't think it's inherent in IMAP functionality.

Enigmail cannot control where the drafts are stored, but you can encrypt
      drafts.

When the drafts are saved, Enigmail asks you if you want to encrypt
them. In this dialog you can choose a default action (i.e. save
encrypted vs. plaintext) such that Enigmail won't ask you anymore. I'm
pretty sure you did this in the past and chose "plaintext".

To reset this, go to OpenPGP > Preferences. If you only see a single
tab, click on "Show Expert Setting"; then switch to the "Advanced" tab
      and click on "Reset Warnings".

Thanks Patrick, I was able to reset the warning and now I am saving encrypted drafts. Problem solved!

I will say that I don't recall ever answering that question before. This is a pretty new installation of Thunderbird, so I think I would remember. But I could be wrong.

    Thanks for you help.

    Kevin
