When opening a new message compose window in Thunderbird, the option for signing the message is always enabled. I would like to disable it by default, and I have tried to configure my thunderbird and enigmail settings to disable automatic signing, but couldn't find a way to have signing disabled. Is it an issue with my configuration settings, or a bug?
using, on Debian:
thunderbird version 60.4.0-1~deb9u1
enigmail version 2.0.8-5~deb9u1
attached screenshots showing the enigmail configuration, the PGP configuration of my mail account, and the status of the mail compose window at opening.
Hello Patrick,
Thanks for your reply.
Please check the second screenshot attached to my first post. The setting ("Sign messages by default") is disabled, but signing is still activated each time I open a new window.

You can find that default in the Account Settings, under OpenPGP Security

I'm sorry, I read your post on my mobile phone by email, and that doesn't show any attachments.
Please check the Enigmail menu. Which algorithm is used to sign the messages?
