First I like to thank you Patrick for offering that tool. I can't imagine how much effort and time you spent on this project. It must be a lot. Thanks for all your work and knowledge your are sharing.

    My question:
I could only find tutorials and a user manual for the version before 2.

Is there any manual/tutorial (in German) for Enigmail 2 which explains the usage for beginners?
Specially with the default mode (p≡p Junior' Mode).

    Examples:

    Do I need a passphrase?
How to make sure other users know, that they can send encrypted messages to me.
How can I figure out, if I can send an encrypted message to someone in my contacts or outside of that group?
    How to encrypt my subject?
    ...

    Thanks.

    Hi ibum,

not really a tutorial, but a introduction (in german) to the new pEp-mode can be found here:
    https://rufposten.de/blog/2018/07/17/pep/
At least some questions are answered, e.g. passphrase.

Regarding 2: I use a signature to tell people of the new tool. If they install it, encryption will be enabled automatically after the second mail:

    --
Ich nutze Pretty Easy Privacy - die neue unkomplizierte Email-Verschlüsselung. Mehr Infos: https://www.pep.security/

Regarding 3: You can't find out (because there is no central server - which is good) ... but if the other contact has pEp, encryption will be activated after the second mail.

    Hi Ibum,

    adding to Furlong's answer
Figur out if you can send encrypted messages to someone: start to write a new email: it will display the pEp privacy status in the status bar at the bottom of the composer. If that's "secure" (yellow) or "trusted" (green), all your mails to the recipients you entered go out encrypted. You have to explicitely switch off "enable protection" to change that (disabled: a broken lock is shown)

Subject Encryption: Any mail that goes out encrypted has encrypted subject.
