System: Thunderbird 60.5.1 with Enigmail under OpenSUSE Linux.
Hello, my Thunderbird with Enigmail presents emails that are signed or encrypted with a monospace font, although in my Thunderbird settings I have not activated the use of monospaced fonts for text emails and even specified a variable-width font for 'monospace'. I don't like this monospace-look of the emails presented by Enigmail at all. How can I change that? Thank you, Daniel

Enigmail does not set fonts. If the font is wrong, then it's usually because the font settings in Thunderbird are quite complicated. There is not only a single font setting, but the fonts depend on the character set of the message.
Please open the Thunderbird font settings, click on the "Advanced" button, and change the font for "Monospace" to whatever you like. On the top of the Window you should see "Fonts for" (some value). If the character set of the messages is not Latin, then you need to adjust the fonts also for non-latin character sets.

Thank you, that fixed it! The message was in Unicode, while I had changed the monospace setting only for "Latin". I had to change the monospace font for "Other" character sets. I had not realised this because there is no option "Unicode".

PS. I wonder why Enigmail designates signed emails to be monospace at all.
Enigmail does not choose monospace . But the sender my choose to use inline-PGP. And that's by definition monospace.
