    Hi,
sorry for a newbie question for which I have not found answers in the FAQ or the discussions below:

Is there an easy way to vizualize in Thunderbird that an email has been encrypted during transmission? (Like colour of the subject or a flag, but without looking into mail headers. Or even some kind of statistics or percentages of encrypted emails)

    Thanks, tfv

I don't understand what you mean with "encrypted during transmission". The purpose of Enigmail is to encrypt emails. Not just during transmission, but permanently. In other words, if you encrypt an email with Enigmail it will be encrypted and then sent accross the wire. The other side will need to decrypt the mail. If Enigmail is used to decrypt an email, then there will be a blue or green bar above the message that tells you about the decryption status of the email.

I'd suggest reading the user manual, particularly the following section: https://enigmail.net/index.php/en/user-manual/signature-and-encryption#Encryption_and_decryption
