I'd say the problem is that you don't remember your passphrase. Unless you re-remember it, or you wrote it down somewhere (which I highly recommend) there is not much you can do. There is no way to recover a lost passphrase.

I've got enigmail 1.5.2 in thunderbird 17.0.7 on a 64-bit Windows 7.
I am able to send encrypted emails, but recently, when reading, I get these two errors:
Error - secret key needed to decrypt message
Error - signature verification failed
Does that mean my secret key isn't working? I've checked openPGP options and it is set to use my key.
I've also tried to change my passphrase, only to get this message:
"Changing the passphrase failed.
Error - bad passphrase"
I presume that means the password I'm changing is bad, but I'm not sure how that could be.
I appreciate any help.
