I just installed OpenPGP on a new Windows 7 computer 64bit and don't have the option to decrypt or verify in the drop down menu of OpenPGP. I am using Thunderbird 24.2.0 with Enigmail 1.6 (20131006-1849). I have a working PC that has the same version oF Windows and it is also 64bit, and that computer does have the option. I have imported my public and private keys to GPG via GPA and all the keys do show up inside OpenPGP.

However, I can't do a successful Enigmail Setup. When I get to the screen where it says "I have existing public and private keys that I would like to import. The next screen prompts you fora the location of the public and private keys, which I supply and the program says "Importing the Keys Failed". I guess this may be due to the fact that the keys are already on my keyring.

I can't get beyond this screen without exiting the setup for OpenPGP.

I can assign my specific key to an email address in Thunderbird by opening up Account Settings and selecting OpenPGP Security and assigning the key that I want to a specific email address. However, when I click on an encrypted email to me, the decryption window will open up and I enter my passphrase. However, I need to enter a second passphrase to fully decrypt the email. I cannot do this as I have no Decrypt option in the OpenPGP dropdown menu.

You need to enable the "expert" settings in order to see the "decrypt" menu entry. OpenPGP > Preferences > Display expert settings.

Thanks Patrick. That was the ticket.
