Hello,

When I use enigmail's key management feature to search the key servers, regardless of what keyserver I use, enigmail always tells me it could not connect to the keyserver. However, I can still search the keyservers with seahorse. I don't think it's a networking issue based on this.

I am using Ubuntu 14.10 64 bit.

I think you still have enabled the option to use the Enigmail-internal mechanism to access keyservers, which is deprecated for quite a while.

Please go to menu Edit > Preferences, switch to the "Advanced" Tab and click on the "Config Editor" button.

Then search for: extensions.enigmail.useGpgKeysTool and set the value to true.

You are absolutely right, all is working now. I have had this installation of enigmail/thunerbird for so long, I wonder if that's why my settings reflected a deprecated method of doing this. Anyway, thanks!
