Enigma 2 was originally started because of the realization that it's predecessor was very poorly coded. We took all that we had learned from our mistakes in the first one and began putting some extra time into learning more advanced rendering techniques. Enigma 2 is programmed in Java using LWJGL which makes use of OpenGL for much faster rendering.
Enigma 2 is not a game, it's more of a sand-box where our main goal was to learn new techniques by tweaking and optimizing code.
