[enfs-devel] Difference between unlink/remove and rmdir

What is the difference between unlink and rmdir?  I know that the
POSIX semantics allow for a distinction, but they do not mandate
it.

And how does it affect filesystems that allow directories to contain
data other than files?  This is most common in "registry" style file
systems that map tables or data into the file namespace.
