Cannot start game! While I try to open the .exe file it says "Unable to set graphic mode. Resolution not supported.".

Well, this isn't a bug, but I'd like to make a suggestion and there was no topic for that ;) I'm really into the rogue-like genre and I'm about to install your game but I'd like to suggest you add another upload of the preinstalled file and zipped so i can just unrar it and go, installers tend to be buggy and most rogue-likes are zipped files, anyways I"m going to edit this post if i find any bugs or have any more suggestions.
Edit I'm not really sure what this installer is, something with winrar but I really do prefer a regular RAR file =)
Alright first issue, I installed just fine, went to the folder and opened endlessdungeons.exe and I get this
"Unable to set graphic mode
Resolution not supported"
any ideas why and how I may fix this?
Edit fixed this by going to Dungeons.cfg and changing screenres = 0 to screenres = 1
Once I changed that i could go full screen by doing the same with the fullscreen = 0 a little ways down the notepad =)
Edit hmmm i cant help but feel this game with its interface as it is would be much nicer if i could use wasd controls aswell seeing as those buttons have no use anyways, also it would be nice if you could add the ability to press enter to choose the first option so i dont have to switch back to the mouse when all i really wanna do is the first option on the list anyways
now i must say the music in the game is very pleasant, it would be cool if the town was like dungeon lvl 0 so you could walk around and interact with the shops in that way, i wish that all rogue-likes had an interface like this mixed with their over complicated controls so it can suit you how you like, also it would be nice to be able to walk in the direction of the enemy and attack them instead of clicking the attack button over and over.
sorry if my suggestions bother you because you are a developer and you have the way you want your game to be and you should never change a game for what other like, just ensure the game is fun for you, but i feel obligated to share my ideas on the subject to help progress this lovely little rogue-like
Edit So 3 hours of playing later and I think the fact that there is no map is overly frustrating, i spend more time running through areas ive been through 3 times till i can recognize every single door on the floor to find i cant get a skeleton key to open one of the 4 stuck doors so hopefully there will be a down ladder on the other side of i find 1 maybe 2 i go and open 2 doors that lead no where with no more skeleton keys anywhere on the floor, so i run back up and reset the floor, i know having a map makes it too easy in a sense but it doesn't really seem to make it too easy it seems to make it practical, if there's 99 floors and i can barely get past the 2nd one the map thing seems necessary, i like that you can play this whole game without any keyboard but i would also like more keyboard abilities, the wrist start to hurt playing this game kinda like playing bf3 or something, now the final thing im going to note is that the stats and skills seem difficult to know what they affect and it would be nice for a description of the class type when beginning so we know what class we really want, i chose the barbarian and i found that i over power any and everything and there are no mobs to remotely slow me down, yet i cant get past the 2nd floor so im not sure what its like elsewhere, on that note i really enjoy the game and will continue to play it for an hour or so tonight, and i will keep an eye out for any updates on Roguebasin
hope some of my criticism helped and doesn't seem to harsh, i see alot of potential and alot of stuff that needs work and other things that need implementing/polishing

Oh and regarding your latest feedback, you did figure out
1) How to use portal stones
2) Only "magically locked" doors need skeleton keys?
If you really did get a map where you can't get past the magically locked doors, that's unfortunate, but you can always use the Systems -> Randomize Dungeons option to reset the map. Magically locked doors only spawn 1 in 20 times so if you got too many it's actually pretty rare. I myself have played a Barbarian to level 14 and been able to progress just by gathering keys. I am watching feedback on keys as to whether it's something I need to adjust, but I don't want to make them completely trivial either. And regarding the power of the Barbarian, the game becomes more difficult later. Level 2 is not a good indicator.
and finally, since I read your feedback again, I think maybe you missed the shortcut keys. You can press 1-4 instead of clicking the buttons in combat. In fact the only things that require mouse instead of keyboard are the town and inventory menus. Keyboard shortcuts are explained in the FAQ which is the other post on this forum.
I appreciate the feedback and you do have a point about the EXE file especially for people who may want to try compiling it on a different O/s. I'll upload a RAR version.

Another bug, that just started today. Please see attached. I don't know if it's been going on all along and I only just noticed because I can finally see my mana, but I doubt it... it seems to have started right about the same time the "Benediction" boon appeared in my boons list. Anyway, my MP just keeps growing, and growing, and growing.
(Update: When the number went into 7 digits, I started to be concerned that it would hit the integer limit, so I exited, and went into the char file and manually changed the number back to what it should be. I then went back into the dungeon. At first, everything seemed to be fixed, until I tried casting the Drain Life spell, at which point my MP started going up and up and up as I move around the dungeon again. This is definitely new since Benediction appeared in my boons list today. I have noticed MP exceeding my max MP in combat before, but casting a spell always fixed the problem.)
(Update #2: I just played a little longer as a scholar, until I got to level 99. The problem didn't happen again... but then, I was playing low levels so I didn't bother to do my usual round of defensive boons. Just switched to alchemist, and did the round of defensive boons, and the problem started up again. So either Benediction permanently messed something up, or, more likely, it has something to do with having that round of defensive spells while simultaneously being level 99. The spells are: Laughing Shadow Lvl 3, Holy Warrior Lvl 2, Holy Boon Lvl 2, and Crown of the Dead. I'm also using a dark mace with Life Stealing, a shield that regens 20 HP/turn and has +13% max hp/mp, and enchanted mail that regens 16 HP/turn and also has +13 max hp/mp. I've attached my character data file, if it helps. Sorry I couldn't narrow down more what's causing the problem...)
Another update on the F key bug: Playing a paladin now, and bizarrely, F5, which I'm trying to key to the Light spell, "Light's Infusion," is behaving very oddly indeed. After keying all of the keys to the same spell and then going back to F5, I can get it to cast Light's Infusion... as long as I'm currently in battle. But if I'm not currently in battle, it casts a cleansing spell.
One thing I found in the code that may or may not account for it:
my=plyr.funcmacrox[e];
mx=plyr.funcmacroy[e];
(line 7525-7526 in the 130d copy of the source code).
These may need to be reversed?

There 's a bug in character creation menu. Uppon entering the avatar 's name, backspace seems to not work properly. It 's a visual bug, the characters that should be erased, don 't disappear, instead the new ones are placed on top (see attached). After the character creation menu, the name displays correctly.
There 's an irritating audio bug, sometimes upon leaving the dungeon and entering the village the battle-music continues.
While in the village, opening and closing the system menu seems to reset the music back to the normal, appropriate tune.

Hello! I am a fan of rogue-like games and I definitely enjoyed this one!
Operating on Microsoft-Windows-10-Home
There 's a bug in character creation menu. Uppon entering the avatar 's name, backspace seems to not work properly. It 's a visual bug, the characters that should be erased, don 't disappear, instead the new ones are placed on top (see attached). After the character creation menu, the name displays correctly.

There 's an irritating audio bug, sometimes upon leaving the dungeon and entering the village the battle-music continues.
While in the village, opening and closing the system menu seems to reset the music back to the normal, appropriate tune.
