The dvp642 is connected to the Receiver via coaxial cable. The Receiver display indicated PCM instead of Dolby sound and played the file with good a/v sync. I understand this is the latest firmware. I hold out little hope that any more firmware will be released. At least I can rest assured that my archive is good and someday I may get a better hardware player than the dvp642. Again, thank you for your help. John |
