We have finally released the first beta. The beta is fully functional however there is no address book or spell check support.

Based on what is complete now, and what needs to be finished before we can release any files, I am estimating that the first beta release will be available in Feb. 2002.

Stephen Echavia has joined our project. He will be designing and building all Icons and Logos for enckimail. Stephen brings with him extensive experience in graphic and web design. He is a Visual Arts grad from the University of Western Ontario.

We are very excited about the new Java based spell checker (Castaspell) that is being developed by students at UWO. Our intentions from the beginning have been to involve Western students and faculty in the development of the application. Castaspell is the first of hopefully many more contributions from the UWO community.
