The deletion process in EncFSMP is done in two steps: First, the files/folders are renamed to something like the above and moved to the root folder, and only later deleted. If something goes wrong (for example EncFSMP crashes), these files/folders remain. They can be safely deleted.
If you have a way to reproduce the case where these files/folders remain, please describe the steps.

i can not delete them because when i try to delete them they seem to be gone,
but when i hit F5 to refresh, the same empty folders appear again.
any clue how i coud get rid of the encfsmp_deleted folders?

i am sorry, that i can't reproduce that issue.
    perhap's it's because i use win 10:
before i shut down my system i always have to unmount all virtual drives.
maybe once i just killed the process.

    MY SOLUTION:

    1. copy the whole stuff out of the encrypted drive (from cloud)
      to a local path (c:\encrypted)(without encfsmp_deleted folders)
    2. remove the concerning drive from encfsmp
    3. remove the folder from the cloud (also delete the wastepaper-basket on the cloud)
    4. create a new folder on the cloud (local)
    5. encfsmp > create new encfsmp (choose the new folder)
    6. mount the new volume
    7. paste the whole content from the local path (c:\encrypted) to the new encfsmp volume!

I get this problem sometimes - I think it is because I have my encrypted folder synced to the cloud (Google Drive in my case) and I think it is caused by google trying to sync the encfsmp_deleted folder and having a lock on it temporarily such that encFSMP can't delete it??

I have the same problem with manually deleting them from the unencrypted view too, but if I find the corresponding encrypted folder in my google drive directory (by comparing date stamps, making sure they are empty etc) and then deleting the encrypted version of the folder, they will not come back (refreshing the unencrypted view will show them gone).

I can see this happening to me too (encfs 0.11.1 x64 on Windows 10). although in a slightly different way. I deleted a lot of files from my encfs encrypted folder and suddenly I found three "encfsmp_deleted_xx-xx-xx-xx" empty directories in the root of the encrypted folder. Trying to delete them only results in new "encfsmp_deleted_xx-xx-xx-xx" directories (with differend IDs), there are always three of them. My encfs encrypted is part of an OneDrive account that is being actively synchronized. I waited for the synchronization to finish and tried to delete them again (after unmounting and mouting the folder a couple of times), but this behaviour repeats every time. I also closed encfsmp and reopened it, same thing. Looks like the only thing left to do is remove the encrypted folder completely and recreate it.

EDIT: I was able to fix my encfs folder by identifying the "encfsmp_deleted_xx-xx-xx-xx" directories in the encrypted encfs directory (with the encrypted folder unmounted, of course) and deleting them. I identified them by date, since the folders were not empty in the encrypted encfs directory (which might be one of the reasons for this weird behaviour). Everything appears to be working normally now. If you choose to do this, I strongly suggest backing up your encrypted folder first.

EDIT 2: My encfs didn't crash a single time while deleting the files which left it in an inconsistent state, and I didn't receive any errors at all, everything appeared to work fine.
